Connecting the browser extension to the Enpass app
Once the browser extension is installed, it must be connected to the Enpass desktop app to allow the saving and autofilling of account credentials and web forms.
To connect browser extension to Enpass:
- Click the Enpass icon on the browser extension toolbar for the first time.
- This will generate an Authentication Passcode on the browser screen, and the Enpass extension will pop up and ask for this code.
- Type the Authentication Passcode into the Enpass extension, and the Enpass app will be connected and ready to use with that browser.
Enpass allows connection only from browsers with verified pass codes. To manage browser authentication, go to Settings > Browser in the Enpass app.
Good to know
Enpass authenticates web browsers by validating their code signature. In Settings > Browser > Browser Authentication, there are two related options:
- Authorize browser with verified code signatures only should remain selected, so that Enpass only allows connections to valid browsers.
- Ask for browser authentication every time should be selected if you want Enpass to re-verify your browser's validity each time Enpass is accessed through the browser.
In Settings > Browser, you can also click Review Browsers to see and manage all the browsers and browser profiles with the Enpass extension installed.
